The Global Partner Support accompanies partners within the Mcrosoft Partner Network (MPN) throughout the entire lifecycle and helps them to sell, deploy and maintain Microsoft solutions with their end customers. The Partner Technology Advisor (PTA) covers the sales part of this lifecycle and plays a pivotal role in accelerating sales and increasing the partner’s probability to win deals.

The PTA role is primarily technical. However, the PTA requires the soft skills to understand the partners’ sales cycle, ask for deal-related information and present technical information.   Area of responsibility   The Partner Technology Advisor delivers the service offering of Technical Sales Assistance (TSA) to partners and focuses on: ·        Product Readiness – technical product information to accelerate readiness on new or recent products. Providing product features and functionality information to enable partners to bring  product awareness to their customers ·        Bid & Proposal Information – technical product information to accelerate the bid & proposal process. To enable Partners to quickly and accurately complete customer bids and proposals. Help complete parts of sales documentation such as “Request for Proposal” (RFP), “Request for Quote” (RFQ) etc. ·        Competitive Assistance – promote Microsoft solutions against the competition. Provide Partners with technical sales resources to accurately position Microsoft solutions against the competition and enable Partners to overcome customers’ concerns. ·        Demonstration Guidance – technical guidance configuring a customer demonstration or proof of concept. Technical guidance to show the features and prove the functionality of a product, by running a Demo and/or creating a POC (Proof-of-Concept). ·        Business Value Assistance – business and technical information to show the value of Microsoft software. Providing tools for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) calculations, Cost/Value analysis, technical architecture, performance, security features, integration capabilities, hardware compatibility and licensing rules. ·        Technical licensing assistance – where technical knowledge is required to select the best licensing option for the Partner.     Technical Qualifications:

  • Broad Infrastructure technical skills with a solution sales focus.
  • Have an understanding of competing Non Microsoft technical products.
  • Experience delivering customer/Partner technical solutions and presentations.  
  • Demonstrated passion for Microsoft products and technologies.
  • Hands on experience working with Microsoft Server products and technologies.
  • Current Microsoft Technical certification(s).

  Business Qualifications

  • The ability to map customer needs to Microsoft solutions.
  • Must possess strong Active Listening Skills.
  • Ability to analyze and develop a deep understanding of the partners’ sales environment and the solution requirements of the end customers’ business
  • Capable of building and sustaining strong technical relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Must have the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
